A few thoughts tonight but I think I will start with Section 377A regarding gay rights.
Basically, in a nutshell, I believe that gays do have rights and we ought to respect that basic necessity. I am not gay, and I do not condone the actions that they whosoever may undertake. But do not get me wrong here, I support the repeal only on the basis of human rights.
From this experience I have learnt a few things and have some thoughts.
1) Society defines the laws set out my each individual culture, and I am seeing the context here where this applies.
2) What happens if one day, society becomes predominantly gay and gay sex between men are the way to go? What will happen to the hetereosexual man? If we apply what is happening now to a purely hypothetical situation in the future, there is a possibility that sex between male and females are outlawed. The same applies in this situation where gay sex is outlawed in Singapore.
Put ourselves in their shoes. I believe an individual must pay the consequence for whatever decision they choose. Gays can have sex with each other, but at the end of the day, it is up to them to be responsible for themselves and society, as well as the consequence as a result of the decisions they make.
Today was a good day. Karaoke in the morning, with a rather random fire drill in the middle. I thank you Malcom, so much for running all the way home just to burn another copy to replace the corrupted one. Thanks a million. Without you none of this would have been possible. Thanks to all the guys who worked in the music video including Paul Chu, Christabel Tan, Malcom Ong and David Liu. You guys are heroes who sacrificed a lot. Thanks a million.
Dear Andre:
If I was a loser I wouldnt be standing on stage. I wouldnt have the guts to stand on stage, nor the ability to write a song.
So before you call someone a loser, i advise you look at yourself first, and see who is the one who neither has the guts nor the ability to write a song.
Either than that, the day has been great, thanks for the support that you guys gave! Especially my class and a few individuals:) You guys rock! thanks to Mr Wong for his guidance along the way, and without your encouragement, I dont think I would have the confidence in this song at all.. so thanks to all of you!
